Hey all,
Hope your holidays were good ones, filled you with enough good will to power you through the winter. That’s the case in my neck of the woods. No big news. Continue to work on McMorrow No. 10, ONCE BURNED, and to follow the case of still-missing toddler Ayla Reynolds. Her dad, Justin DiPietro, has been talking to my alma mater, the Morning Sentinel. Something he said rang very true: “The truth is patient,” DiPietro told the newspaper. “It will come out.”
Just a matter of time.
One last thing. I’m blogging over at Maine Crime Writers today. A bit of musing on creatures of the night. You might enjoy.

In PORT CITY SHAKEDOWN, the first Brandon Blake novel, Brandon gets a full dose of bad guys. A brawl in a funeral home introduces him to Joel Fuller, a sociopathic hustler. Fuller is fresh out of jail and determined to take Brandon out—after Fuller and his sidekick Kelvin shake him down.
Rocky isn’t a tough guy. He’s a skinny little kid with crooked glasses, and he shouldn’t be homeless in Portland, Maine. When McMorrow and Roxanne pluck him from under the stomping feet of a gang of street kids, Rocky latches onto McMorrow–and drags him into a world of murder, both old and new. Why is McMorrow protecting Rocky? The cops want to know. Why is Rocky on the run? McMorrow wants to know. Why does death follow in Rocky’s wake? Jack and Roxanne need to find out before they’re added to the list.
I have to say, I just might go read some of your books. About writer’s writing things that are eerily similar to future occurances.. I watched a movie about just that! It was called “stranger than fiction” very interesting movie where the author is infact writing the guys life out as his life is going on it was very interesting, makes you think what really goes on. anyways thanks for the blogs I enjoyed them much!
Thanks, Jess. It is eery. Worse is people suggesting that your book gave them the idea to commit a crime. That’s not why I do this.
Gerry, Hello ~
I cannot fathom being in your shoes. I wish you could provide the happy ending we have all hoped for. Ayla is on my mind every day. It has been too long. Not enough answers. Lies and half truths abound. Thank you for sharing. I cannot jump into reading your books. Forgive me. Sometimes life is too much of a mystery without answers. Be well.
