The buzz in these parts is news that the Grand View Coffee Shop in Vassalboro (AKA the topless coffee shop) was indeed torched. The story takes up much of the front page of the Waterville Morning Sentinel. No insurance, the owner says, and his family, including four-month-old granddaughters, sleeping at the place. So somebody who objects to topless doughnut servers nearly kills seven people? Well, you could make this up but I didn’t. Which isn’t to say Jack isn’t headed over to check it out.
Adding signings and talks pretty steadily. The list is on the events page here. Hope our paths cross!
We’re scheduling appearances

In PORT CITY SHAKEDOWN, the first Brandon Blake novel, Brandon gets a full dose of bad guys. A brawl in a funeral home introduces him to Joel Fuller, a sociopathic hustler. Fuller is fresh out of jail and determined to take Brandon out—after Fuller and his sidekick Kelvin shake him down.
Rocky isn’t a tough guy. He’s a skinny little kid with crooked glasses, and he shouldn’t be homeless in Portland, Maine. When McMorrow and Roxanne pluck him from under the stomping feet of a gang of street kids, Rocky latches onto McMorrow–and drags him into a world of murder, both old and new. Why is McMorrow protecting Rocky? The cops want to know. Why is Rocky on the run? McMorrow wants to know. Why does death follow in Rocky’s wake? Jack and Roxanne need to find out before they’re added to the list.
Gerry, great fodder for Jack to dive into! While we are alarmed at the brazen actions by some determined arsonist, we here in rural Maine were really not surprised. Very scary indeed. Some unknown(s) decided to make the potentially murderous decision to end the plans of an “enterprising” entrepreneur. Not the way to do it. A miracle no one was hurt. But it did happen. Truth makes amazing fiction. Can’t wait to read how this figures into a new McMorrow adventure!
Looking forward to a book signing.
