Some good news on the awards front. McMorrow novels have won the Maine Literary Award for crime fiction (RANDOM ACT, 2020; STRAW MAN, 2017). Now we can add another award: a bronze medal for HARD LINE in the 2025 Independent Publisher Book Awards. The IPPY Awards, as they are known, are a national honor that showcases the best work from independent publishers like mine, Islandport Press in Maine.
I’m very happy that the last Jack McMorrow mystery was singled out for this honor. Jack, the toughest reporter in the land, worked very hard in my novels for more than 30 years. He deserves it.
